Welcome
to Acoustic Alaska Guitar Camp -- a camp devoted to exploring the inner
and outer limits of the acoustic guitar.
Enrollment is limited and advance registration is required. Tuition, (which includes instruction, on-site camping, meals, and an Anchorage airport shuttle), is only $549 if paid in full by May 31st. After May 31st, the rate is $589. This is the only camp of its kind anywhere in Alaska so please enroll early to avoid disappointment. Spaces can also be reserved by sending a $229 deposit (with $399 due at camp registration). One ticket to the AAGC Instructor concert in Anchorage and an Acoustic Alaska Guitar Camp T-shirt to commemorate your stay in the "Last Frontier" are also included. For charge card enrollment, Email the Camp. Three meals per day are included and vegetarian choices will be available. For those who prefer indoor accommodations, shared cabins (heated and carpeted) are available for an additional $60 for the entire camp while supplies last. Please indicate on the enrollment form if you would prefer to stay in a cabin rather than "camp." A central shower house is available to all attendees. Check-in will take place late Sunday afternoon & evening, August 24th, and camp will break the following Saturday morning with all campers required to vacate the premises by noon, on August 30th. For travel planning purposes, Monday, September 1st is a U.S. and Canadian holiday, Labor Day. The camp is approximately an hour outside Anchorage and ten minutes from Wasilla, Alaska. Camp and location specific information can be found here. Click here to find a list of things to bring to camp. Younger students are welcome if accompanied by enrolled parents. Each class will be 90 minutes in duration and a student may sign up for up to two major & two minor classes. Each day’s major classes will build upon the previous day’s class. A detailed description of each course can be found here. Please indicate your class preferences on the enrollment form. Scheduling will be done in a way to satisfy as many campers as possible. Prioritize your classes carefully because courses run concurrently and, thus, not all classes will be available in every time slot. Detailed information on Instructors can be found here. After class, the days are filled with workshops, concerts, and jam sessions. Being away from everyday cares and responsibilities allows for intense focus on music; therefore, many students make major technical and conceptual strides during the week. Learning becomes much easier around people who have similar goals and who want you to succeed. Refunds will be made according to the following schedule: All amounts paid are refundable minus $129 through May 31, 2008. All amounts paid are refundable minus $229 through July 25th, 2008, after which time no refunds can be made.
